LAUNCH

Wrapped up in my ego
That’s wrapped up in him
I watch the 18 year old.

A most perfect rocket
In between the Lab and space
Crafted and invested
With all the explosive creative genius
I had to impart.

A high octane cocktail for fuel =
Nurture + Nature + Free Will + Sovereignty.

Elegantly, and with an air of casual
He stands out of reach on the launching pad.
Close to the final countdown that will launch him into his future.
Yet, despite his vitality
And talent
And intellect
The engine at his core
Won’t yet ignite.

What gravity has kept him so weighted to the ground?
Afraid to dream
Or work for a dream?

The tools I had to tinker with
To fine tune or tweak
Are proving useless now.

So I put them aside and dig out the binoculars.
Breathless, I watch.

4-3-2-1.

i'm doing much better at the end of a long week of acceptances, and delays, and denials.

it was good to write this! i've always thought i process well in writing.

now I know going with the poetry genre is a quick fix to emotional healing for me!

on our part, James started submitted info for our taxes in early january - to a professional! Unfortunately, the accountant in the states was supremely LAME. Turned it back to James who found numerous errors a few rounds, and FINALLY got it back 2 days ago.

Sigh. U of Richmond was the only school requiring the College Board IDOC for determining financial aid, and the report from college board was due to them March 1, in order to make their awards April 1...today.

nevertheless, like the missing of the general date for ROTC $, or the U of O honors college denial for not having a transcript which had been sent, or or or... It ain't over till it's over, and we all press on.

after calling FEDEX first to make sure their hours or office hasn't moved from the website info, I went and found the FEDEX office buried in in the bowels of an industrial park on one of the many roads named Pasir Panjang. This was in order to get it off this morning. Only to find out can't send to a PO Box, and need a phone number...

it got sent by speedpost this afternoon and will arrive on April 9th. My folks are willing to send express from there - it might arrive sooner. I scanned the cover sheet and signed documents from it. Hopefully there won't be an issue with it not being an ORIGINAL, or that we printed it on A4 and not 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

time to write another poem.
